We recently harvested several frames of honey from our hives. The honey smelled sweet with a light sugary aroma. This was the first time using the manual honey extractor. We hand spun the frames to allow the honey to be collected without disturbing the comb allowing the bees to use the comb again quickly. Our honey was minimally filter can bottled raw. We have honey available for purchase. To get your own jar, email rebelroosterfarm@gmail.com!
We bottled several dozens of jars of honey and used several pounds of honey to make a batch of mead! Look for a future post on mead making.
